Kentucky credit freeze law goes into effect

Posted on Jul 13, 2006 by Tom Fragala

Kentucky residents can place a credit freeze for up to seven years (why seven?). However, it’s only free for victims with a police report. $10 for everyone else. Courier-Journal has more.

The following states have credit freeze laws today: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Utah, Vermont, Wisconsin, Hawaii, Kansas, South Dakota, Texas and Washington.
