Personal Data on 970,000 Lost in AIG Theft
Posted on Jun 23, 2006 by Tom Fragala
Dow Jones reports via CNN.com
After losing personal information for 930,000 people in the theft of a computer server, American International Group Inc. (AIG) Thursday said it plans to offer identity-restoration services to any who are "fearful" that their identity may have been stolen, an AIG spokesman said.
Update: It appears the total number of people effected is 970,000, based on other reports I have read. I changed the number in the post title, but left the quote above unchanged.
