Daylight Saving Time Provokes Scams

Beware of email scams related to the daylight saving jump.  Because daylight savings is taking place three weeks sooner than usual, it may cause some problems for computers and electronic devices.  Daylight savings has received some media hype and that makes it a good trap for ID thieves to catch some victims.  The scammers can use this year’s daylight saving jump as an opportunity to phish or, in other words, steal your identity by acting as your financial institution and asking for personal information.  An email may say that your bank needs your information to recover from the problems that daylight saving presented.  This reminder serves now and always; do not respond to emails from banks or credit card companies asking for your personal information.
