How the Pros Protect Themselves
Posted on Jul 16, 2007 by Michelle Pastor
Here’s a great article about how the tech experts protect themselves from identity theft and other fraud. The article features tips from Frank Abagnale, a former identity thief turned FBI consultant on white collar crime.
These days, Mr. Abagnale never uses a debit card and writes checks rarely, paying for most everything with a credit card because, he says, credit-card issuers do the most to shield consumers from fraud.
"My money is never at risk, only their money," Mr. Abagnale says. But he adds that he pays the bill in full each month to avoid getting into debt.
Read what other pros do to avoid becoming victims of fraud.

I recently read a book about a law firm associate that becomes victim of identity fraud and who is framed for corporate fraud and murder. In "Wearing the Spider" by Susan Schaab, you can directly see the correlation between computerized technology and fraud. I think this article is very helpful to those who wish to protect themselves from technological predators.
