Boeing Laptop Stolen with 328,000 People's Data
Posted on Dec 16, 2006 by Tom Fragala
Boeing suffers yet another data breach via laptop theft. Files on the laptop contained employees' names, Social Security numbers, home addresses, phone numbers and birth dates, with some listing salary information. This time an employee left the laptop unattended (they aren’t saying where) and the data was not encrypted which is against company policy. Consumer Affairs reports
A laptop containing the personal information of 328,000 current and former employees of Boeing was stolen in Chicago, according to the company.
And Boeing fired the employee.
