Oops! Medical Center Exposes Patients to Identity Theft (Again)

The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) sent donation solicitation letters to thousands of its former patients. Unfortunately, the patients’ social security number appeared through the window of the envelope. Yikes!
Oddly enough, UPMC didn’t learn its lesson from a previous mishap. The Pittsburgh Post Gazette reported that:
Last month, the names and social security numbers of some patients were posted on the UPMC Radiology Department's website.
