My blog is getting spammed by a marketing executive at TrustedID
Posted on Sep 22, 2006 by Tom Fragala
Interesting. The Director of Marketing for TrustedID, Lomit Patel, is posting spam comments on my website/blog. There are two: here and here.
According to TrustedID's web site, "Lomit leads all of TrustedID's direct marketing efforts and has 12 years of direct marketing experience. Previously, Lomit managed direct online customer acquisitions for Earthlink's PeoplePC division, building over 500% growth in the company's web acquisitions channel."
If that's true, he clearly has been a successful marketer. So why is he posting spam comments on blogs? It's unprofessional--and frankly looks a little desperate. Besides, if he's trying to boost search engine ranking for their web site by planting linkbacks, he should realize that blog comments don't help. The systems at Google, Technorati, etc, are smart enough to filter that stuff out.

Update: Apparently, he was working from home this evening (a Pacbell DSL connection) when posting this spam. See for yourself here.
Update 2 (9/23): Now someone ELSE from TrustedID is spamming this blog. This time the person's name is apparently Dave Schmit. And he's working from the SAME location as the other guy above.
