Congressional Hearing on Disputing Inaccurate Data

Posted on Jun 25, 2007 by Tom Fragala

I got this from Mark Enderle the other day:

By the way, you might be interested to know that the House Financial Services Committee had a hearing 2 days ago examining “Consumers’ Ability to Dispute & Change Inaccurate Information.”  …I think you would find it quite illuminating.  The total hearing lasts exactly 3 hours.

Here is the link to the House Financial Services Committee hearing. There were two panels.

Panel One:

  • Ms. Lydia Parnes, Director, Bureau of Consumer Protection, Federal Trade Commission
  • Ms. Sandra Braunstein, Director, Division of Consumer and Community Affairs, Federal Reserve System

Panel Two

  • Mr. Evan Hendricks, Editor/Publisher, Privacy Times
  • Mr. Stuart Pratt, President and CEO, Consumer Data Industry Association
  • Ms. Chi Chi Wu, Staff Attorney, National Consumer Law Center
  • Ms. Anne P. Fortney, Partner, Hudson Cook, LLP
  • Mr. Leonard A. Bennett, Consumer Litigation Associates, P.C.
