FBI Opens Probe Of 12dailyPro Site

Posted on Feb 16, 2006 by Tom Fragala

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that the FBI has launched a formal investigation into 12dailypro…

The Federal Bureau of Investigation said it has initiated an inquiry into 12dailyPro.com, an Internet marketing company that has shut down most operations amid allegations that it may have been running an illegal Ponzi scheme.

The FBI's office in Charlotte, N.C., issued a press release dated Feb. 15 announcing what it called an "assessment" of 12dailyPro. It said the FBI is working with the U.S. Attorney's office for the Western District of North Carolina "to determine if further federal investigation into this matter is warranted."

Last week, The Wall Street Journal reported that 12dailyPro was being probed by a variety of state and federal agencies, including the FBI and the Securities and Exchange Commission. But yesterday's statement was the first official confirmation of FBI involvement.
