Truston Looking for Director of Research & Policy

Job description: Director, Research & Policy

Truston is looking for a Director of Research & Policy. This candidate will lead our efforts in building content, procedures and policies related to prevention and recovery of identity theft and consumer fraud. The candidate must be an expert on federal and state laws related to privacy, identity theft, consumer credit, debt collection, and consumer protections in retail banking. This includes a deep working knowledge of many statutes including but not limited to FCRA, EFTA, FACTA, and applicable UCC. (If you don't know what those acronyms mean, then this position is not a good fit for you.)

The candidate will be responsible for writing comprehensive procedures that are easy to understand by consumers, but can be considered compliant with laws and best practices. The candidate will need to translate these procedures into the company's own set of templates and methodologies so our product development can easily build the content into our online service.

The candidate may also be called on to represent the company at conferences and industry associations.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Conduct research and analysis for new products and services through comprehensive content development using knowledge of industry best practices and federal and state laws
• Provide on-going management of existing information products and services including identity theft prevention and recovery content. customer education, and documentation.
• Be primary researcher and author of content and procedures incorporated in company's products and services.
• Work with company and user communities to document business requirements for enhancements to existing products and new products and services.
• Project management for all development efforts including escalation point and decision maker for issue identification and resolution; ensure project milestones and deliverables are met on time and within allocated budget.
• Work independently and in cross-functional team environment including software development, system architects, copy editors, company advisory board.
• Explore new product opportunities that could leverage company's infrastructure and information assets.
• Work with partners, privacy and consumer organizations to identify major issues and regulatory strategies.
• Maintain your subject matter expertise and knowledge of government rulemaking and industry trends related to identity theft, consumer credit, privacy, consumer banking, compliance, data breaches and more.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 5 years hand-on experience in law enforcement, fraud investigation, law, government, non-profit, legal, compliance or as customer representative in a related industry, especially bank compliance, privacy, identity theft resolution and consumer credit reporting.
• Deep knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, and best practices related to consumer credit, retail banking, fraud investigation, privacy and identity theft.

Position reports to Chief Executive Officer. Telecommuting and working remotely is OK.
