Scamsafe, Inc. (dba Truston) is a licensee of the TRUSTe Privacy Program. TRUSTe is an independent, non-profit organization whose mission is to build users' trust and confidence in the Internet by promoting the use of fair information practices. Cookies

A cookie is a small amount of data, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier, that is sent to your browser from our computers and stored on your own computer. Cookies are tied to your personally identifiable information (email address) to help us identify when you return to our website. We employ Google Analytics’ software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons/Web Bugs), that help us better manage content on our site by informing us what content is effective. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Web users. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user’s computer hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on Web pages and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. We do not tie the information gathered by clear gifs to our customers personally identifiable information.

Information Collection and Use

We collect information both personally identifiable and non-personally identifiable in various areas of the site including when you register for a free account or a subscription account, tell-a-friend, newsletter subscriptions, feedback, blog, and profile areas. We collect the e-mail addresses of those who sign up to use the Service. Your e-mail address is required and essential for the Service to operate. Log Files

As is true of most Web sites, our servers gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data.

We use this information, which does not identify individual users, to analyze trends, to administer the site, to track users' movements around the site and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole.

Blog

If you use our blog on this Web site, you should be aware that any personally identifiable information you submit there can be read, collected, or used by other users of these forums, and could be used to send you unsolicited messages. We are not responsible for the personally identifiable information you choose to submit in these forums.

Tell-A-Friend

If you choose to use our referral service to tell a friend about our site, we will ask you for your friend's name and email address. We will automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting him or her to visit the site. Truston does NOT store this information and uses it for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email.

Choice/Opt-Out

We provide you the opportunity to 'opt-out' of having your personally identifiable information used for certain purposes, when we ask for this information. We use a third party email service provider. When you sign up for our services, we will share your email address with this service provider as necessary for the third party to send our emails to you.
